Concha y Toro Terrunyo Carmenere 2007

Gold Medal - International Wine Challenge, May 2010 Tended by the winemaker’s attentive hand, each varietal grows and ripens within its own particular terruño (the Spanish word for terroir), an exceptional piece of land in the heart of the very best vineyards of Concha y Toro. A terruño is a unique, well-delimited vineyard in which a micro-climate, the chosen grape stock, a select piece of soil and the expert hand of man interact, magically creating perfect harmony and delivering unrivaled quality. Terrunyo Carmenere is aged in French oak barrels for 17 months. This distinctive Carmenere is tasty and full-bodied with a dark, deep red color. It is an elegant, powerful wine which lingers in the mouth. Enjoy this wine with meats, aged cheeses and pastas. Production Area: Block 27, Peumo Vineyard, Rapel Valley, Chile. Grape Varieties: 85% Carmenere, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot. Description: Hints of berries, chocolate, cigar box, pepper and mineral notes, pair with flavors of black cherry, woodland berries, and hints of chocolate. (Information may change vintage to vintage)
