Chile makes some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon blends in the world. In 2003 Chilean blends ranking 1^st and 2^nd in the Berlin Blind Tasting (against French First Growths and Italian Super Tuscans).  

In 2004 Clos Apalta from Casa Lapostolle was chosen as the 3^rd best wine in the world according to Wine Spectator magazine.  In 2008 the 2005 vintage of this wine was chosen as the Best wine in the World by Wine Spectator.
